Every Dosing Error Is a Cost, Not a Detail
Your wash chemistry is specified as an active concentration — a presoak, a drying agent, a foaming detergent, each at a target strength. Your chemical supplier’s cost-per-car and cleaning performance are both calculated at that target. Any device that cannot hold the target across the operating range of your bay converts directly into cost:
- Over-dose - concentrate poured down the pit, higher effluent load, no cleaning gain.
- Under-dose - streaky cars, rewashes, complaints, lost memberships.
- Dosing drift - both faults appearing intermittently as line pressure changes — the hardest failure to diagnose.
Most washes inherit whatever was bolted to the wall when they bought the site — often a venturi, which draws chemical by pressure differential, so every booster cycle, every second bay opening and every failing regulator moves the dilution. The invoice never shows it, but the wash quality does.
