Dosatron Accelerates Its Energy Transition with New Solar Carports
301 MWh of solar energy produced every year to help build the sustainable industry of tomorrow.
At Dosatron, innovation is not limited to our dosing solutions. It is also reflected in the way we continuously improve our industrial operations to create a more efficient, responsible and sustainable business.
As part of this commitment, we recently commissioned photovoltaic carports on the parking area of our Tresses site. This installation generates renewable electricity locally while making use of existing space.
Producing locally the energy we consume
Thanks to this installation, nearly one-third of the electricity consumed on our site now comes from our own solar production.
With an installed capacity of 250 kWp, the photovoltaic plant covers nearly 1,500 m² of parking area and is expected to generate an average of 301 MWh of electricity per year.
The objective is clear: maximize self-consumption of the energy produced on site.
Today:
· 81% of the electricity generated is directly consumed by the Dosatron site;
· 19% of the production is fed back into the public grid;
· 28% of the site's annual electricity consumption is covered by this solar energy production.
This local production helps reduce our dependence on conventional energy sources while contributing to better energy management.
A project supporting a more sustainable industry
Beyond energy production, this installation delivers measurable environmental benefits.
· It will avoid approximately 170 tonnes of CO₂ emissions;
· Each year generate the equivalent annual electricity consumption of 163 French households (excluding heating).
Electric vehicle charging stations have also been installed on site. They are partially powered by the electricity generated by the solar carports, contributing to the development of more sustainable mobility solutions.
A collective achievement
Developed in partnership with Néomix and supported by Bordeaux Métropole Énergies, this project demonstrates the value of local collaboration in advancing the energy transition and developing sustainable energy solutions. It marks another milestone in Dosatron's CSR journey.
