The Dosatron D14WL is a low-flow chlorinator purpose-built for drinking water disinfection. Powered entirely by water pressure, it delivers proportional, accurate chlorine dosing without electricity, complex controls, or external power supply — making it one of the most reliable and cost-effective chlorination solutions for small-scale water treatment.

Whether you're treating a private well, supplying a rural community, or managing a small municipal system, the D14WL ensures that every gallon of water receives the exact same chlorine concentration — automatically adjusting to changes in flow rate and pressure.

Features

Non-Electric, Water-Powered Operation

The D14WL runs on water pressure alone — no electricity, no batteries, no motor. This eliminates the risk of power outages disrupting your water treatment and removes electrical hazards from the installation. It's the ideal solution for off-grid locations, remote communities, and areas with unreliable power.

Proportional Dosing for Consistent Chlorine Levels

The dosing ratio is set once and maintained automatically. Whether your flow is at 0.05 GPM or 14 GPM, the chlorine-to-water ratio stays the same. No manual adjustment needed. No over- or under-dosing.

Easy Installation & Low Maintenance

The D14WL installs directly on a ¾" NPT water line in a bypass configuration. Included accessories — suction tube, weighted strainer, and mounting bracket — make setup straightforward. Maintenance is simple: periodic inspection, seal replacement (annual injection seal kit available), and wiping down internal components.

Self-Priming Up to 4 Meters

The unit draws chlorine solution from a tank up to 4 meters below, with no external suction pump required.

How It Works

When water enters the D14WL, it drives an internal hydraulic motor — a piston that moves up and down with the water flow. This motion simultaneously draws a concentrated chlorine solution (sodium hypochlorite or calcium hypochlorite) from a solution tank and injects it into the water line at a precisely set ratio.

This is volumetric proportional dosing: the amount of chlorine injected is always directly proportional to the volume of water passing through the unit. Flow increases? The dose increases. Flow decreases? The dose decreases. The result is a consistent chlorine residual at all times — regardless of fluctuations in your water system

NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 Certified — Built for Drinking Water

The D14WL has been independently tested and certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 (Drinking Water System Components — Health Effects)

What this means in practice:

  • NSF/ANSI 61 — Every material and component in contact with water has undergone toxicological analysis and leachate testing to confirm that no harmful contaminants migrate into the water. This standard is required by most US states and Canadian provinces for equipment installed in potable water systems.

Dosatron is the only manufacturer offering a full range of water-powered chlorinators with NSF/ANSI 61 & 372 certification.

Who Is the D14WL Designed For?

Unlike higher-capacity chlorinators designed for large municipal plants, the D14WL is specifically engineered for low-to-moderate flow applications where precision matters most:

  • Residential well water systems — Disinfect private well water to eliminate coliform bacteria, E. coli, iron bacteria, and hydrogen sulfide odors
  • Small communities & rural water supplies — Maintain safe chlorine residuals for villages, trailer parks, schools, churches, and remote facilities
  • Small-scale water treatment plants — Reliable primary or re-chlorination dosing for systems serving modest populations
  • Emergency & portable water treatment — Deployable skid-mounted configurations for disaster relief and humanitarian operations
  • Light industrial processes — Process water disinfection where flow rates are moderate and chemical precision is critical
