Water is being used in multiple applications, turning it into a fundamental resource for human activity.

First, water is essential for human organism. Thus, its quality can lead to dramatic consequences if it carries microbiological pathogens or pollutions.

Even with a good water quality, a treatment should be considered to secure acceptable quality. Most of the cases, drinking water production includes liquid or soluble additives dosing, allowing to reach the targets defined by local governments (organoleptic, physicochemical and microbiological parameters). As water treatment equipments are likely to be in contact with drinking water, some legislations include requirements in regards to its contamination through particles migration from the equipment to the water.

Dosatron Water Line

Volumetric and proportional, Dosatron metering pumps provide accurate and repeatable dosing of treatment additives, powered only with the hydraulic energy available in the network where they are implemented. Mainly dedicated to water potabilisation in rural area, Dosatron Water Line dosing pumps will suit as well any water treatment applications with more industrial focus (remineralization, pH adjustment, membrane disinfection, sludge dewatering etc…)

From now on, the Water Line product range includes dispensers certified to NSF/ANSI 61 & 372 standards, necessary for any equipment potentially in contact with drinking water, from source to tap.

NSF/ANSI 61 & 372 certification

NSF International is an accredited, independent third-party certification body commissioned to develop standards relating to public health. In addition, NSF International is accredited to test and certify equipment to verify they meet these public health and safety standards.

NSF/ANSI 61 & 372 standard was developed to establish requirements for the control of potential adverse human health effects from products that contact drinking water (production, transport).

Dosatron Water Line dosing units certified NSF/ANSI 61 & 372 have been subjected to detailed toxicological analysis. Each dispenser composition (sub-assemblies, materials, suppliers) has been analyzed and referenced at NSF International. Every units went through stringent migration testing to confirm toxic particles are not leached out. Finally, Dosatron received at his premises NSF International for a complete system audit, audit to be renewed on a yearly basis.

Integrating Dosatron Water Line dosing units certified to NSF/ANSI 61 & 372 standards into water treatment applications provide a real alternative to standard dosing technologies, offering accuracy, robustness and straight forward maintenance while protecting users health.

ACS certification

When products such as pipes, valves, pumps, etc. are made from inappropriate materials, they can degrade when in contact with drinking water, impurities can infiltrate the water and these materials can promote microbial growth.

Beyond taste and odour problems, this presents a significant risk factor for human health but also a danger to the aquatic environment if these residues are not eliminated by appropriate wastewater treatment.

There are therefore rules on materials and articles in contact with drinking water that guarantee consumers drinking water without health risks.

DOSATRON products certified by ACS comply with the quality requirements set out in the Public Health Code (CSP) transposing Directive 98/83/EC of 3 November 1998 on the quality of EDCH.

The validity of a certificate can be verified by contacting the issuing laboratory, or by consulting the list of valid health certificates of conformity published by the Carso Group laboratories.
