Dosatron Proportional Metering Pumps Range

Our comprehensive portfolio of proportional dosing pump models ensures the highest levels of accuracy and repeatability to help your dosing system achieve the optimal results in your fluid handling processes.

Dosing Excellence

Dosatron’s innovative water-powered proportional dosing pumps have been engineered to provide you with accurate, constant and homogenous dosage performance as you focus on mission-critical tasks. They are designed to deliver the ultimate precision and repeatability in metering any liquid or water-soluble product, whatever the application.

Dosatron Technology

Dosatron metering pumps are equipped with hydraulic motors using piston or diaphragm technology that are driven and controlled by the pressure and flow of water (or other fluids), rather than by electricity or pressurized air. In general, the pumps are installed directly on the water supply line, with the speed of the motor varying in proportion to the volume of water passing through the pump.

The motor piston or diaphragm, which cycles correspond to a predetermined water volume (motor capacity), drives a dosing piston which continuously injects a fixed amount of product for each motor cycle. The additive dosing rate can easily be selected and adjusted by rotating the sleeve on the dosing part. This operating principle ensures repeatable dosing that is independent of any variations in water flow rate and pressure.

User Benefits

Dosatron’s high-quality metering pumps provide you with the right design features and performance capabilities, allowing you to meet all of your demanding liquid-handling process requirements.
Our fluid-driven metering pumps:

  • Are non-electric and use only the water flow rate and water pressure as source of energy. This provides significant flexibility for the installation without compromising with accuracy and repeatability. This also means that the pumps are compatible with low gravitational pressure so they can operate with water from header tanks, mountain springs, etc.
  • Achieve accurate and repeatable proportional dosing that is not depending on the pressure and flow of the water supply. Unlike electric chemical metering pumps, there is no need to add a water meter or a flow meter to adapt the dosing to variable hydraulic conditions. Proportional dosing is achieved by design.
  • Are easy to install (plus & play): first they need to be connected to the water line to be processed through the input and output threaded connections. Then the suction hose should be connected on the suction valve at the bottom of the dosing part and dunked into the additive to be dosed.
  • Are simple to use: they will run as soon as water flows through them. The dosing rate can be quickly and easily fine tuned by rotating the dosing sleeve on the dosing stem. The by-pass option, a simple lever installed at the top of the unit allows pausing the dosing operation.
  • Contribute to minimize maintenance cost and down time: service can be done manually on site without tools and service kits are available at all of our partners. Over time, reparability has become a key requirement in any new pump design. Moreover, plenty of videos are available on our  YouTube channel to help you in this regards.
  • Are suitable for a wide range of liquid dosing processes and can be used in a large number of industries and applications. Several seal grades are available to address acidic as well as alkaline additives. FFKM grades are available to cover even harscher chemicals. Applications possibilities are also increased through PVDF offering for the pump bodies.
  • Can be installed in very constraining environments like outside or with a very humid atmosphere as they do not include any electronic components.
  • Are self priming up to 4 meters height meaning that no specific protocol is required to make sure the metering pump starts drawing the required additive. This contributes to drive operation costs down by minimizing staff training time.
  • Integrate a mixing chamber allowing an homogeneous mix of the additive with the driving fluid. Homogeneity can be critical in applications using spraying nozzles or lances or including inline measuring devices.  In comparison, standard electric dosing systems work with pulse.
  • Generate low pulse effect. Dosatron metering pumps use the pressure from the line to incorporate the required additive where electric metering pumps are generating pressure to push each additive dose into the main line
  • Are not affected by off gassing chemicals in terms of internal operation. As an off gassing situation occurs, the pump will just drive the air being generated and continue working normally. In addition, this generates a saving compared to regular electric dosing pump where an additional gassing head might need to be installed.
  • Will not be damaged in case the additive is missing (empty drum for example). A lack of additive will just lead the pump to inject the equivalent volume of air in the line. As soon as the additive will be topped up, the Dosatron will start dosing the additive again (as it is self priming). This is a further opportunity of saving against conventional electric dosing technologies.
  • Do not generate overdosing risks. If the installation is not subjected to siphoning effects, by design Dosatron pump can not inject more additive than required. Eventually, underdosing situations could occur over time due to internal wear which is not likely to happen if the units are serviced as recommended.
